Religion
Just a couple of nights ago, I saw a TV programmed featuring Sadhguru.

In that programme, he claimed in the spiritual process there are two types of individual "A Seeker" and "A Believer"
Religion means you subscribe to a certain set of beliefs. You are referred to as a believer. It is natural for human beings to seek. Unlike a believer who thinks he knows, a seeker starts from the position, I don't know.
I guess I am still "A Seeker" in that context.
Form Kai (13 Jan 2012): Sadhguru is the master guru that I am learning yoga from. A very interesting character. I have a number of his books and DVD if you are keen. And his words sync and resonate with many. And he is a fun guy not those serious looking guru. Imagine, this guy bike around and is about to complete his chopper pilot licence (so that he can zip around India isntead of being stuck in traffic). Incidentally Sadhguru is a greatly respected guru ...and had also spoken at World economic forum at Davos and so on...
He was here 3 months back... his public speech was packed with over 2000 attendee. I only attended the meditator session which I estimate close to a thousand were there. These are all those that had already "graduated" from the basic training lah.he is scheduled to be here in March 2012.
Be very wary of all the commercial yoga outfits. They are treating yoga like aerobic exercise... missing the entire picture. They also focus too much on the exercise when in fac a key aspect of yoga is in the breadth.
In any case, in recent years, neuroscience has confirmed what yoga science had know all along. Our mind can be rewired. In neuro science this is termed the "plasticity" of human mind. I recall that in my physiology lessons back in those day ...where we have course on neurology...we were told that the brain of the adult human being do not develop further but instead brain cells continue to die off and no new brain cells will ever grow. Apparently we have been fed a load of craps. So yes you can rewire your mind... and yoga science is one of the approach. Start with meditation. if it does not help you gain more spiritual awareness. ... at least it is good for you health and mental well being.
What neuroscience know is that even the best mind uses less than a fraction of our brain capacity. I believe that to tap the remaining, meditation is the way.
And as we were discussing Karma , this may be an interesting take: http://www.ishafoundation.org/Jan2012NewsletterUS/back-to-the-big-bang.isa
